Jan. 9th, 2012 02:48 pmAs always I start out not remembering Friday night.
Saturday, we woke at 7. There was breakfast and other getting ready stuff. We left the house at about 7:55. Was at the YMCA for gymnastics class by 8:05. Class was at 8:20. I honestly don't know why I didn't know this was kind of a Mommy and Me class but it was and we didn't know. J and I were both in jeans. J was going to sit and watch from the viewing room but that didn't work. Evan seriously needed to be coralled, especially because he could see Daddy in the viewing room. So, yeah, we had a rocky start but it got better, much better. Evan actually did very well at doing the actual gymnastics. His waiting his turn part needs work. The trampoline was a big hit as we knew it would be. The parallel bar next to the wall that he hung on to and then climbed the wall was another favorite. He really loved the wedges that were used to somersault down. Best of all was the tumble track. The tumble track is basically a long narrow trampoline that he got to jump down and then at the end he could either jump down into the pit of foam rubber blocks or slide down the teacher into the pit. He jumped down there with no fear whatsoever. Then he laughed and laughed. He wasn't so good at moving around in the pit. The worst part of class was at the end of the 10 minutes of open gym they had almost until the end. After open gym Miss Jenn wanted them to all come under the parachute. Evan didn't want to stop playing. He cried. It should get better week by week, right?
The rest of the weekend was really all about chores. Five loads of laundry. Reorg in the den, Evan's room and our room. Putting away Christmas. Food shopping. Target shopping. I'm sure I'm forgetting something. J took Evan to the park on Sunday. J and I watched Transformers:Dark Side of the Moon Saturday Night. I can't believe they had Leonard Nimoy say one particular line as the villian in Transformers.
J started his four week temporary transfer to Queens today. The garage he reports to is just about as far from our house as you can get in Queens. Luckily the supervisor he reports to seems cool and sent J home really early today. Hopefully that trend continues.
OK, back to work!
